I decided to do something new for me, a roundup of all of my 2024 published patterns! With a full-time job, three school-age kiddos, a crazy puppy that thinks she is a human and likes being naughty, and adjusting to competitive sports life, I was happy to see that I published 12 crochet patterns. I was even more excited to recognize that I 4 of these designs were tunisian crochet patterns!
I love tunisian crochet and often say to myself that I need to complete more projects in this technique. It uses more yarn than crochet, but it’s hard to not love the rhythmic movements, the texture, and how it looks like knitting but with the ease of one hook.
This past year also provided an opportunity to design with lace weight yarn for the first time. I’m officially hooked! LOL Lace weight was like fingering weight, it seems scary because it is so thin and having thoughts that the project would never end… I learned the secret to using thin yarns though. You just use a larger hook! Yep, that’s all there is to conquering that fear, and it was worth it.
2024 CBC Crochet Patterns
2024 was a doozy of a year, and went by even faster than previous years. This year also presented amazing adventures, in which I chose to create a unique crochet wearable at the last minute. By making just for me, there were fewer crochet patterns for you, but I’m glad that I still published 12 patterns this year. Below you’ll find a roundup of those patterns.
I love tunisian crochet and the texture that is created in every project. This dishcloth is the perfect way to learn a new stitch before committing to a larger project.
Add pops of color to your home decor, and practice a color work technique in tunisian crochet.
In recognizing the craze around Hexagon Cardigans, I had to switch things up a bit with the Hexi Poncho. Started much like the beloved cardigans, you create one giant hexagon with an opening for the head. Change colors in the corners for a little extra fun.
When you need a quick project to reset after a break from crochet or having finished a large project, grab some scrap yarn and a hair tie to make the Diamonds Crochet Hair Bow.
If you follow fashion trends, then the Adeline Necktie needs to be your next project. Made with 2 colors of DK weight yarm, and two styling options, elevate any outfit with this accessory.
Your handmade closet NEEDS this crochet bolero. Lace and fingering weight yarn creates an ethereal look for this bolero that can be worn with a dress or a long sleeve and jeans. It's time to step out of your comfort yarn zone to create this with easy stitches.
As a crochet designer that loves creating garments, this is my first foray into making a crochet wearable for the fur kids. This crochet dog sweater is different than most patterns, as it's more like a cape so that it's easy to help your doggie put on and take off without getting in the way of their collar, leash or body parts. This pattern includes instructions to make fit any size dog.
Decorate the table during the holidays with the Harvest Splendor Tunsian Trivets. You'll create lots of texture with tunisian puff stitches and purls. The edging is worked seamlessly. Don't worry if you're new to tunisian crochet because there's video support.
Why not be cute and look "delicious" with the Tunsian Box Cowl? LOL This crochet neckwarmer is made with ultra soft alpaca yarn in a NEW tunisian crochet stitch. Watch the video tutorial on how to make this tunisian "waffle" looking stitch pattern.
Besides raising awareness for cancer, this crochet bucket hat is on trend with a ruffled brim. Add a level of functionality with it being reversible to offer 2-in-1 looks.
Create this stylish, versatile crochet cowl with two colors of worsted weight yarn. You'll use stitches of various heights to create the unique slope shape.
Whether you choose to wear this top sleeveless, create a cold shoulder look, or make the long sleeve version, you're going to love how easy it is to make and wear. Be prepared to receive compliments, and proudly state, "Yes, I made it!" And this is size inclusive up to a 72" chest circumference.
I hope you enjoyed looking back at the 12 crochet patterns published in 2024.
