The Acorn Cowl is the first Creations By Courtney C2C, corner-to-corner, design… and my first C2C project.
I know! I know! Everyone has been going wild for C2C for a minute, but I follow my own path in the fiber world LOL
Anyways, a fiber friend asked me to check out her new digital crochet magazine, Hook Me Up Crochet Magazine, which has a different theme each month. August’s theme is prehistoric, and I pondered for a while on what I could create that was prehistoric related. I thought about trees and dinosaurs, but I didn’t want to make something with a leaf or create amigurumi.
My original idea was a loin cloth 🤦🏾♀️ I’m glad I decided not to go with that idea. After visiting Pinterest and Google search for prehistoric ideas, I was inspired by the amazing creativity of C2C. I dived into my stash to pull out a buy weight, category 5 yarn, that’s been waiting on a project for a while. Since the yarn is a lovely brown color, I was thinking of something tree related, initially, but as it took shape, it became a cowl. And it only required one skein for the Small/Medium! Whoop! Whoop!
Although most cowls are created in one size, I wrote this up with three different sizes so that it sits along the top of your shoulders to fit better under your favorite outerwear.
