The Marielle Crochet Stitch is a pretty lace stitch that can be used for shawls, garments and many other crochet projects. It’s an easy to remember stitch pattern that works up quickly to create fabric with drape.
Below in this crochet tutorial, you will find the stitch multiple needed to start in two different ways, pattern key, special stitches, notes, and written and video instructions.

Multiples needed for the stitch
Multiple needed: ch a multiple of 4
Start with foundation sts: ch a multiple of 4+2
Abbreviations Used:
ch: chain
CSDC: chinless starting double crochet
CSTR: chinless starting treble crochet
dc: double crochet
fsc: foundation single crochet
rem: remain(s)
rep: repeat
sk: skip
st: stitch(es)
SPECIAL STITCHES & TECHNIQUES
CSDC: pull up a loop to height of row, holding loop in place and wrap yarn around hook (yarn over), insert hook in first st, YO, pull up a loop, [YO, pull through 2 loops] twice
CSTR: pull up a loop to height of row, holding loop in place and wrap yarn around hook twice (yarn over), insert hook in first st, YO, pull up a loop, [YO, pull through 2 loops] three times

Supplies Used:
Any Yarn. I used worsted weight
Hook appropriate for the yarn. I used a Furls Crochet Navy Odyssey hook in size I (5.50mm).
NOTES
- The CSDC can be substituted with a ch 3.
- The CSTR can be substituted with a ch 4.
- Carefully count the chains that are skipped to make the first row.
Written Instructions
Ch 20
Row 1: [2 tr, ch 2, dc] in 6th ch from hook (the skipped 5 ch counts as dc and sk 2 sts), *sk next 3 ch, [2 tr, ch 2, dc] in next ch, rep from * until 2 sts rem, sk 1 ch, tr in last ch, turn (4 [2tr, ch 2, dc] groups, 1 tr, 1 dc)
Row 2: CSDC in first st, *[2 tr, ch 2, dc] in the next ch-2 sp; rep from * across, tr in top of dc, turn (4 [2tr, ch 2, dc] groups, 1 tr, 1 dc)
Next Rows: Rep Row 2 until desired length
